AirForce Texan SS vs LSS: Which Big-Bore Texan Is Right for You?

A spec-by-spec comparison of the AirForce Texan SS and Texan LSS big-bore air rifles, including the carbon fiber tank versions.

Short answer: the AirForce Texan SS is the shorter, quieter carbine version, with a 24.75-inch barrel and AirForce's enlarged Sound-Loc system. The Texan LSS combines the power of the full-size Texan with the SS's sound reduction, for hunters who want heavier slugs and more energy. Both are single-shot, side-lever big bores with a 490cc tank filled to 3000 psi (200 bar). Carbon fiber tank versions raise the fill pressure.
